As the pandemic drags on, it has not stopped Focal Point Camera Club from meeting. Like many clubs, groups, organizations and businesses, we have all found creative ways to continue to meet and progress. We have been hosting our meetings on Zoom since April of 2020. While it has been a bit challenging, we have found creative ways to hold contests, critiques and our photo challenges as well as engage with each other while practicing social distancing.
Using Zoom and PollUnit has enable us to carry on as a club and even expand a bit. We will be starting two (2) Special Interest Groups (SIG's) that we will do using Zoom. Steve will be highlighting using Lightroom as he walks through his process of image organization and editing. Marty will be doing the same with Luminar 4 and Luminar AI. In the future, we plan to add more SIG's, possible one for Canon, Nikon, other image editing programs, subjects like nature and wildlife or what ever the membership would like. Have an idea, just email the club email account and let us know. Stu Glaser earned his Masters Degree from the Professional Photographers of America.

At our January 28th meeting, Gary Barden presented a program on how to properly light basic portraits for one person. Here are a couple of examples of the results using a background and an a main light and a second light from the back side as well as using an eye lighter. As you can see, the results are well lit and pleasing.
Our past president, Marty Welter wrote an article which appeared in the January 2019 issue of the PSA Journal. The article was a look back at his trip to the 2018 PSA Conference. He was the Staff Photographer for the conference and along with the article, he had some great images. You can read the article Here.
